Chamber punk avant-songstress and her band play a set of their Dream hymns set somewhere between interstellar space and the American deep south. “Christian howls like a Werewolf with a voice made of Molasses” — Variety
The Spalding Gray Award is a special commission in Spalding’s honor that supports gifted playwrights or performers whose work continues on in the legacy of Spalding, a fearless innovator of theatrical form. The SGA is supported by Kathleen Russo, his widow, Performance Space 122 in New York, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and Seattle’s On the Boards. Recipients of the SGA receive a commission and full presentation of new work in an upcoming season at each of the partners’ theaters.
